Practical information for your trip to Iguazú Falls
Iguazú Falls have a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and warm winters. The falls can be visited any time of the year. Summers from November to March are the hottest time of the year and the most rainfall comes in summer. Summer is also the peak season for tourism in Iguaçu Falls. The best time to visit the Iguazu Falls is in winter (June-August) when the weather is cooler, there is less crowd and the prices tend to drop.Visiting Iguazu Falls can be done easily both from Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

In the Brazilian side, Foz do Iguaçu is the town offering access to the falls, while Punta del Este in Paraguay is also located close to the falls. In Argentina, the small and picturesque town Puerto Iguazú serves as a starting point to trips to the falls and has a developed tourism infrastructure. This city is located only 18 kilometers from the falls. The majority of the hotels in the Iguazu Falls of Argentina are located in the Puerto Iguazú. There are some restaurants Iguazu Falls area, but the nearby towns of Puerto Iguazú and Foz do Iguaçu have more versatile dining opportunities.
Flights to Iguazu Falls in Argentina arrive in Cataratas Del Iguazú International Airport, which serves flights to the capital Buenos Aires. Puerto Iguazú can also be accessed by regular buses from Buenos Aires and Posadas in Argentina. Connections to Brazil and Paraguay are also available. In the Brazilian side, Foz do Iguaçu town has an airport with regular domestic flights to the falls.
Local transport. There are good, cheap and comfortable bus connections from the airport and from Puerto Iguazú to the Iguazú Falls. Taking a taxi might be a good option if you are interested in visiting the Brazilian side of the falls. Car rental in Iguazú Falls is available at the airport, though Puerto Iguazú is small enough to be toured on foot. Foz do Iguaçu on the Brazilian side is considerably larger.
Safety. Iguaçu Falls are a relatively safe rural destination, but it is advisable to keep an eye on your belongings and watch out for pickpockets especially in crowds. Visiting the nearby Foz do Iguaçu or Ciudad del Este will require more caution.
