Travel and flights to Tampere



Tampere has an airport, located 17 km from the city center, that receives direct flights from several European cities, such as London, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Riga. There are also domestic flights to Tampere from the larger international airport in Helsinki. There is a bus service as well as shared taxis from the airport to the city. Travelling to Tampere is also easy by train or bus from elsewhere in Finland. There are regular fast trains to Tampere from all major cities in Finland, as well as buses to Tampere from even more cities and towns. The Tampere train station is located right at the city center, while the bus station is also close by. Tampere is well connected to elsewhere in Finland by roads, and driving to there is easy. You can also visit Tampere by a lake cruise from for example Hämeenlinna.
