Travel and flights to Flores / Tikal

The small Mundo Maya International Airport situated outside Flores receives many international flights to Flores from Mexico and Belize, as well as several daily flights from Guatemala City. There has also been a weekly flight to Flores from Houston. The airport is two kilometers away from Flores, and taxis are available to transport passengers to hotels. There are also shuttle buses available from the airport straight to Tikal. There are also buses and minibuses to Flores from Belize and various destinations in Guatemala. They arrive in Santa Elena, South from Flores. The road from Central Guatemala to Petén is in fairly good condition, and it is possible to travel to Flores and Tikal by car. You can also take a shuttle minibus straight to Tikal from Belize or a few Guatemalan cities.
