Sweden is the largest Nordic country located in Northern Europe bordering the Baltic Sea. Sweden has a long coastline. The landscape is mostly flat but there are mountains in the western part of the country. Sweden has a temperate climate with cold winters and cool and partly cloudy summers. The northern part of the country has a cold subarctic climate. If you are looking for the sun, visit Sweden in the summer between May and August.

Hotels & services. Sweden has excellent services for visitors and the accommodation is of very high quality. There is a good selection of bars and clubs in the biggest cities of Sweden, such as Gothenburg and Stockholm. Sweden is a relatively expensive country. However, the prices in the numerous restaurants and hotels are often reasonable compared to other big cities in Europe. English is widely understood and spoken in Sweden.
How to get there. The majority of the international flights to Sweden arrive at the Arlanda international airport in Stockholm, which serves both domestic flights direct flights from the major cities in Europe. There is an international airport in Gothenburg, too. Travelers from Asia and America usually fly to Copenhagen in Denmark and take a connecting flight to Sweden. The country can also be accessed by regular buses and trains linked with ferries from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Poland and the United Kingdom. There are ports in Gothenburg, Helsingborg, Malmö and Stockholm.
Getting around. Trains and buses in Sweden work fast and efficiently. If you are interested in exploring the beautiful Swedish countryside, driving is a good choice.
