Libreville has some nice places for shopping, mainly in the city center. There are also many shops in the seafront area. The main supermarket, called Mbolo is in the city center. The artisan market has jewellery, clothes, West African instruments and paintings for sale. However, most of the items sold there are not from Gabon. The gigantic open-air market in Mont-Bouet has a more local feel in it, and is a colorful sight as itself. Shopping there is a bargain, but there are pickpockets, so you need to take care of your belongings at all times.
