Shopping in Leiden

Leiden is a good place for shopping for example books, antique and clothes. Shopping in Leiden is concentrated along the two main shopping streets in the historic city center: Haarlemmerstraat and Breestraat. There are also small antique stores and boutiques around the churches of Pieterskerk and Hooglandsekerk. Many museums in Leiden have souvenir shops. There is also a canalside market in Leiden on Wednesdays and Saturdays. note that shops in Leiden open late on Mondays and stay open until 9pm on Thursdays. All shops are closed on Sundays, except on the last Sunday of the month.
