Shopping in Lausanne

Compared to major cities in Switzerland, such as Geneva or Berne, Lausanne has more limited opportunities for shopping. However, there are plenty of shops, boutiques and department stores in the city. Visit also the colorful markets in the Old Town where you can see farmers selling local products. Watches, chocolate and cheese are typical souvenirs from Lausanne. Like in other parts of Switzerland, the prices are relatively high. Most shops in Lausanne are closed on Sundays.
