The Nile River is something you just have to experience while in Egypt, and the best way to see it in Aswan is to take a cruise in a felucca, a local traditional sailboat. They are slow wooden boats that are perfect for pleasant sightseeing cruises. Both shorter and longer felucca cruises in Aswan are widely available, offering also all meals as well as some other transportation included. These small sailboat tours are great for small groups of approximately 6-8 people, and solo travellers can also join groups. During longer boat tours around Aswan, passengers sleep on the boats.
