A hot rainy season runs from May to November, and occasional hurricanes may reach the island from September to November. Some rain is received throughout the year, but it consists mostly of refreshing and short afternoon showers. February and March are the driest months. The nights are a bit cooler from December to April.
Traveling to Negril is done mainly by air. There is a small airport with charter flights to Negril from North America and Europe. Alternatively, you can also fly to Kingston or Montego Bay, and drive or take a bus or taxi to Negril from there.
Public transport in Negril is restricted, as the the place is quite small, but there are many taxis available, as well as shared route taxis, buses and minivans. Car rental in Negril is a good way to explore Jamaica. Many local resorts in Negril also provide bus excursions to sights around the island.
Visitor services. There is a large number of hotels in Negril, including beach resorts, high end all-inclusive hotels, small boutique hotels and holiday cottages.
