Weather in Malawi is warm all year round, with average monthly high temperatures ranging between 22 and 28°C. The warmest time of the year in Malawi is between September and December, when the mercury usually climbs over 30°C during the day, and temperatures can be unbearably hot especially in the lower areas.

A British protectorate established in 1891, Malawi gained its independence in 1964. After some decades of one-party rule, Malawi decided to go for multi-party democracy in 1991. How to get there. Malawi is easiest to reach through Lilongwe's international airport, which offers best flight connections to Malawi from African major airports such as Johannesburg and Nairobi. Traveling around in Malawi is usually quite slow as most of the roads are in bad condition. There are no passenger railways in Malawi, but some boat and domestic flight connections exist.
