Located in the southern tip of Taiwan, Kenting is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Taiwan Strait and the Luzon Strait.

The landscape in Kenting consists of valleys, coral sea cliffs, mountains, and sandy dunes. Kenting enjoys a pleasant humid tropical climate with warm weather year round, making it ideal for water sports and outdoor activities.
How to get there. The easiest way to travel to Kenting is via the city of Kaohsiung. Hengchun is the centre of transportation in Kenting and it also has a domestic airport, but flights to there are often cancelled due to strong winds in the area. The majority of the international flights to Kenting arrive at Kaohsiung International Airport. The National Park has good bus, train and highway connections from major cities and towns in Taiwan. There are regular bus connections between Kenting and Kaoshiung. As taxis are not widely available in the National Park, car rental in Kenting is a good option for getting around in the area. Rental scooters are also available.
Services & safety. The majority of the hotels in Kentinghave an ideal location next to the beach. The restaurants in Kentingserve mainly delicious Taiwanese food. People in Kenting region are very friendly to visitors. English is widely understood in the restaurants and at the hotels.
