From Celtic tradition to British influence

Settled by Celtic tribes more than 2,500 years ago, Ireland holds along an interesting history, which has seen the influence of powerful nations such as the Vikings and the British. In spite of all the fascinating battles and of all the kings gone-by, the tradition of the Celts who ruled this island for 1,000 years, has however survived until today. Although influenced by disagreements on North Ireland's position, modern Ireland is a wealthy country and a member of the European Union that is also one of the most peaceful countries on earth, and a very safe travel destination.
