Constanta has a continental climate with some Mediterranean influences, having warm and sunny summers from July to September. Autumns from late September to November are relatively warm as well, whereas winters are cold and stormy with some snow, and springs are cooler than in the inland regions of Romania.

Traveling to Constanta is easy by air or by road or railroad from Bucharest. There is an international airport with some scheduled and many charter flights to Constanta during the summer season. There are also frequent trains to Constanta from elsewhere in Romania, and buses from as far as Istanbul, Thessaloniki and Varna. There is a large marina for private yachts to visit Constanta, and new ferry connection to the city has just been opened, linking Constanta with Varna in Bulgaria and Odessa in Ukraine.
Public transport in Constanta includes buses, trolleybuses, trams and minivans called maxi-taxis that take 8-10 customers. There are also yellow taxis available, and car rental in Constanta is also possible.
